4th Grade Invitational Baseball
The 4th grade boys had a good showing in their baseball invitational on Friday. Finn M., Casey B., and Lucas L. had great games on the mound for the boys in blue and white. Ben S. did a phenomenal job behind the plate. Additionally, Ashton K. had a good offensive day. In the first game, Zach S. was hit by a pitch that started an offensive onslaught by Starlight. The boys came back from a 2-0 hole in the final at bat of the first game to win 6-2 against Indian Head. In the next game, they beat a second Indian Head squad 5-2, before losing in the final 2-0. Great job junior boys

Tennis vs. Camp Wayne
The 10th/11th grade boys tennis team took on Camp Wayne for Boys in the Wayne County finals on Friday. Playing the decisive match, doubles #2 was victorious with a score of 8-6. Zach C. and Spencer W. did a great job, finishing the match with a forehead winner. Starlight’s other two wins were in singles #2 and doubles #3. Great job boys, now go and rush that lake!

Basketball vs. Westmont
The boys took a commanding lead in the first quarter, going up 17-0 to start the game. Leading the way was Finn M. with 10 points. Casey B. also contributed 9 points as well. In truth, points were not the reason these boys won the game. Starlight’s defensive intensity was on point and their ball movement on fast breaks was a key to their success. Colby H. and Ben S. had great hustle plays at the end of the game. Great overall team effort. Their headed to the championship round! Final Score 29-9.

Lacrosse vs. Camp Wayne
Starlight fought for a semifinal victory on Tuesday over Camp Wayne, behind goals from 5 different Starlighters. Amanda S. led the scoring effort with 5 goals, Chelsea S. tallied 3, Daryn C. had 2, and Sabrina W. and Olivia S. contributed with a goal a piece. Goalkeeper Marlie K. racked up 7 saves in the victory. Starlight opened up with a 5-0 lead, but Wayne cut the lead to 7-5 by halftime. It was touch and go until the end, but thanks to a strong defensive effort and great midfield transition play, Starlight held onto the lead to advance to the finals! Final Score 12-9.
