Wayne County Update

Lacrosse vs. Chen-A-Wanda

Starlight advanced to the Wayne County finals with a 11-10 overtime victory over Chen-A-Wanda on Saturday, with Rachel H. scoring the game winning goal. Rachel finished with 5 goals. Additionally, Gabby G., Jordyn P., Dani A., Juliette S., and Julia H. all scored a goal in the win. Final Score 11-10.

Wayne County Update

Basketball vs. Weequahic

The boys from Starlight took a commanding lead after a slow start thanks to pestering defense from Shai A. and Reece S. Both players combined for 6 points and 5 steals. Joey S. staunchly manned the middle and finished with 6 points, 8 rebounds, and one powerful block! Sawyer W. had a solid game with 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Last but not least, Jacob Z. ran the offense and finished with 3 assists and 2 steals. Final Score 24-11

Jake S. played the final match that gave the win to Starlight with an overall score of 3-2! Singles #3 and doubles #3 were the other two victories for Starlight with a score of 8-4 for both matches.

Wayne County Update

Lacrosse vs. Indian Head

Starlight snuck away with an 11-10 victory over Indian Head on Saturday, behind 5 goal efforts from Brooke G. and Harper L. Harper also contributed 2 assists, while Drew S. contributed a goal. Indian Head opened up with a 2-0 lead, but Starlight retaliated and brought the score to 9-3 by halftime. Indian head went on a 7-1 run to make the score 10-9, but Starlight held strong and finished with a win. Final Score 11-10.

4th Grade Invitational Baseball

The 4th grade boys had a good showing in their baseball invitational on Friday. Finn M., Casey B., and Lucas L. had great games on the mound for the boys in blue and white. Ben S. did a phenomenal job behind the plate. Additionally, Ashton K. had a good offensive day. In the first game, Zach S. was hit by a pitch that started an offensive onslaught by Starlight. The boys came back from a 2-0 hole in the final at bat of the first game to win 6-2 against Indian Head. In the next game, they beat a second Indian Head squad 5-2, before losing in the final 2-0. Great job junior boys!!

Tennis vs. Westmont

Jaden Y. played 3rd singles for Starlight and played some excellent tennis to win 8-1, which included some terrific half-volley returns! Doubles 1 featuring Julian A. and Sam L. showed some great chemistry to pull out the victory 8-3. The decisive match was all up to Dan W. and Aidan K. The pair showed solid skills on the way to another 8-3 win. Final Score 3-2.
