Lacrosse vs. Island Lake
Rachel H. opened up the scoring 20 seconds into the game to put Starlight out in front. She finished the game with 2 goals. Additionally, Juliette S., Julia H., Gabby G., and Dani A. all finished with 2 goals each. First time goalkeeper Samantha F. had 6 saves and played quite impressively. Starlight controlled the beginning of the game, getting off to a 6-0 lead. Final Score 14-7.

Wayne County Update
Basketball vs. Equinunk
Starlight played a 3 game tournament against Camp Equinunk on wednesday. David H. had 6 rebound and 3 blocks, along with 6 points to lead Starlight to victory in a 36-12 win in the first game of the tournament. In the second game, Camp Starlight pulled out a 31-17 win. Maxwell S. had 13 points, 3 assists, and was 3-5 from three point range. In Starlight’s 3rd fame, Blake P. had 12 points, 2 assist, and was 3-6 from 3 point range. Final Score 27-16!

Basketball vs. Morasha
Unfortunately, Starlight started the game off on the wrong foot, falling behind early 21-4. Despite the poor start, Starlight cut the lead to 2 with 1.2 seconds left. Ben K. took a three as time expired which sadly rattled in and out. Charlie H. and Ben. K finished the game with 20 points each. Jackson F. played well and was a rebound monster. Final Score 49-51.

Wayne County Update
Lacrosse vs. Wayne
The 7th grade boys lacrosse team played in a very memorable game at home on Sunday. Camp Wayne came out fast and jumped out to a 8-3 lead in the first half. Starlight kept their heads up high and rose to the occasion and brought it back to lead the game 9-8 with 4 minutes to go in the game. With under a minute to go, Camp Wayne tied up the score and sent the game into overtime. In under 30 seconds, Max G. score the game winning goal! Final Score 10-9.

Blake Benson, 19, Improv Specialist; in the Canteen. “I never had anything like this. Improv was always taught as an appendage of theater… something apart from it. In college I realized it is it’s own world, its own field. I just want to give kids the opportunity to see that. And that you can be creative and make jokes and that’s enough.”

Basketball vs. Shoshanim
Starlight’s youngest group of girls took to the courts on Wednesday in search of a victory in the opening round of Wayne County basketball competition. Hannah G. had two points and really helped out the team with a pair of steals. Additionally, Harper L. contributed with 4 points and 8 steals. Lily T. played a great game and finished with 4 points. The team as a whole played well together and passed the ball around beautifully. Despite these girl’s short stature, they played like superstars. We are very proud of this group of girls! Final Score 10-6.
