Our Summer Camp Activities
At Starlight, we emphasize skill development, participation, good sportsmanship, teamwork and fun. Since we run our girls and boys athletics programs like a sports camp, we focus on individual skill growth through instruction and team play. Campers are given instruction in individual and team sports, and each camper is placed on a specific college league team to give them a chance to practice their skills throughout the summer. Campers who would like a more competitive sports camp type of experience may also play against other summer camps in Wayne County and Invitational Tournaments.
- European Handball
- Fitness and Aerobics

Activities include: Instructional Swim featuring American Red Cross Instruction, Recreational Swim, Swim Team, Water-skiing, Wakeboarding, Tubing, Sailing, Kayaking, Fishing, Water Polo, and Water Aerobics
Inspired by the beauty of our natural surroundings, our outdoor adventure program gives campers the opportunity to explore the outdoors through our High and Low Challenge Course, Mountain Biking, Archery, Nature, Overnight Camping, and Hiking. The program design helps campers build self-esteem and develop the confidence to conquer both individual and group challenges.
Awesome Evening Programs
Nights are magical at Starlight, thanks to the hard work of our Special Events team, a group of creative camp staff members dedicated exclusively to the planning and execution of our amazing evening programs. Activities may be planned specifically for each division or sometimes the entire camp. However large or small the group, evening activities are always fun and exciting. Every night is a different experience whether it’s a campfire, an outside entertainer, camp theater production, pool party, talent show, SFL (flag football under the lights), late night leagues, laser tag, DJ parties, Masquerade Party, MTV Night, or one of the many other activities we enjoy from year to year! Several nights each week, campers relax and socialize with snacks in our indoor/outdoor canteen areas following these great activities.

Our Option Program
Our option camp program gives campers a chance to explore new activities or just focus on the ones that they love. In addition to our regular offerings in athletics, watersports, adventure, and creative and performing arts, we offer additional activities, such as Rocketry, Theater, Radio, Website, Eco-Science, Guitar, Newspaper, and Cooking, just to name a few. Choices rotate every three days for the morning Option and daily for the Super Sixth. Whatever they choose, campers help design their own perfect day by selecting two activities in which to immerse themselves from the over 60 offered.
We offer performing arts camp programs in Theater, Dance, Music, and Voice. The Starlight Playhouse features five musical theater productions each summer. Professional scenery, costumes, and lighting make our theater camp program a highlight. Theater Improv and Musical Theater options as well as Starcamps provide opportunities for more comprehensive coaching from renowned professionals. Our new Carriage House features two modern dance studios where dancers can opt for classes that accommodate all levels of talent in several dance styles. They may also join one of our competitive dance teams. Musicians may bring their instruments to camp and might find themselves part of an act in one of our shows. Our Camp Chorus performs weekly. We also offer guitar classes as part of our Super Sixth and Option camp programs.
